CAH Lunch & Learn: Eve’s Plant Propagation

Eve’s beautiful plants

Eve’s beautiful plants

Last Thursday, the CAH team hosted our first ever virtual Lunch and Learn! Our Account Manager, Eve Milan, coached us on several propagation techniques. There has been a  rise of plant parents during Covid quarantine, so this was a popular topic amongst our staff.

First and foremost, the question we’re all asking is  “How can I keep my plants alive?” Eve answered, “You just have to keep killing plants!” As odd as that may sound, gardening is a trial and error process which can ultimately motivate us to keep learning and hopefully obtain the results we’ve been looking for. We are fortunate enough to have an expert like Eve to educate us on the three main elements (Air, Earth and Water) to successfully grow plants.

CAH is a close knit family that strives to have fun and learn more about each other even if we are working from home. Whether we may be working or not, we advocate creativity and passion here at CAH to bring out the best in each and every one of us. Thank you Eve for hosting the first Lunch and Learn. We are looking forward to the next one!

CAH IN SUPPORT OF BLACK LIVES MATTER

We stand with our partners!

We stand with our partners!

Here at CAH, we recognize the systemic racism that has been established in our society. It is important we prioritize educating ourselves about the racial inequalities the Black Community faces each day; including police brutality, health care disparities, voter suppression, mass incarceration, among many other inequities. We stand as an ally to the Black Community, and will continue to stand for justice and equality.

It is important we prioritize educating ourselves and those around us about the struggles the Black Community has faced and continues to face to this day. We still have a long way to go, but it’s important to educate others and to speak up to raise more awareness.

Digital Treatments for Cognitive Impairment

Akili blog post 1 .png

Akili has now released a game called ENDEAVOR that is changing the gaming industry by combining both science and technology to help children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Those who have ADHD, have difficulties focusing their attention on a single task and struggle with hyperactivity.

ENDEAVOR is both an intriguing and challenging game that is designed to help improve attention function. Patients will be guiding a character through different worlds while collecting targets, receiving awards, and overcoming obstacles. Through a companion app called ADHD Insight, parents will also be able to track and understand their child’s behavior.

Concept Art House is honored to contribute artwork for ENDEAVOR. We helped build costumes and complex characters in 3D.

Concept Art House Newsletter Picture 1 .png

These are challenging times.  Like many of you, our team has been working from home for over a month now.  We are doing everything we can to stay connected as a company; hosting virtual meetings and having company lunches to continue delivering art to our partners around the world.  With our economy struggling, we’re very grateful to be working in the games industry.

It’s heartwarming to see the world coming together to support each other in so many ways, especially within the gaming community.  We’re proud that 9 of our clients are part of the #PlayApartTogether Campaign.

Members of our team are also supporting SF Bay Area community in a number of ways.  We’ve made donations that support local healthcare nonprofits.  Some members of our team made meals for the homeless.  Our China team even shipped extra PPEs to support local Bay Area hospitals.

We’re okay and we hope you’re okay too.

working from home in china

Most years, this would be a time of celebration all over China and East Asia.  This year, the Coronavirus outbreak cast a cloud over Lunar New Year celebrations.  Along with most businesses in China’s big cities, our team has been required to work from home during this difficult time.

Our Creative Director Ken says: “I’m from Wuhan.  I feel fortunate that my family is not affected and pray each day that things will improve for my home city”.

Our VP of Production says: “I’m glad that our artists are able to work from their homes. Many people in China do not have that opportunity and are losing their jobs due to the virus. I’m very proud of our artists for working through this hardship. Our US production managers and art directors are working closely with artists individually to ensure minimal impact to our important clients.

“Work seems a distant second to the safety and health of billions of people.  We are taking every precaution we can at CAH’s art facilities in China to ensure workers’ safety.  All artists are working from home. We’ve purchased as many facemasks for our team members for when they do need to leave the house,” James Zhang, CEO.

Immutable reveals Trial of the Gods

Game studio Immutable revealed details regarding the first champion for Trial of the Gods in their weekly live stream.  This is the first expansion for trading card game Gods Unchained. For more information click here.

Concept Art House and Immutable collaborated to create characters in the game. The characters were inspired by Japanese sparring and Chinese Kung Fu martial arts. The character shown below is incredibly religious. He was destroyed and was broken into pieces. Fortunately, his beliefs saved him and his God put him back together.
